ExcogitaNet Who?
Founded in 1999 with the name of Excogita as a generic software consulting company,
gets its actual name of ExcogitaNet to emphasize its specialization
in the areas od Multichannel-Multidevice Portal Application Development,
EAI for Banking and Industry, VoIP and Video architectures for Wireless Operators, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Nel 2005 ExcogitaNet delivers its own international vocation,
already present in the of composition of its company order,
with the opening of the french branch, ExcogitaNet France.
The Founding Members
The group which later grew into ExcogitaNet formed while working for Sirti, the former Telecom Italia network planning company where most of us worked for several years.
Alessandro is ExcogitaNet's Chief Excutive Officer together with Gérard Smal. While in Sirti he was lead developer of the CartoOn GIS system, Italy's first Java based GIS system which was Sirti's first foray in large scale GIS development in Java. After joining Quinary as consultant he acted as the software engineer in developing the applications and platforms for the wireless operators which made Quinary famous as the best wireless systems integrator in Italy and ultimatedly favored Tiscali's acquisition of the company. In 2001 Alessandro became the head of the wireless team and developed into a multi-million business the systems designed for the GSM operator Blu. He has then completed the redesign of Vodafone's 190Online "Trilogy" portal under Etnoteam's bid.
Gérard is ExcogitaNet's Chief Excutive Officer together with Alessandro Lucianò.
He joined ExcogitaNet in 2002 and is the most experienced member of the company.
He has very extensive knowledge of Banking, EAI and Distributed architectures based on CORBA and, between 2002 and 2004, has
worked in Hutchison Wampoa's UMTS venture in Italy.
While in Tre UMTS he designed the core business logic of the state machine which controls all of the UMTS operator's
consumer applications.
He has worked with Franco Bernabè's top of the line consulting firm Tidysoft, where he officially held the
title of CTO until joining ExcogitaNet.
For Tidysoft he has designed the Loquendo-VoiceXML portal application system which is Italy's most advanced
Voice portal product in existence.
Gérard has also very extensive Finance and Banking background and has
designed the backend of banks like Banca Sella, SanPaolo IMI and many many more.
Currently he is also the Chief Executive Officer for ExcogitaNet France.
Marcello is the software engineering guru and brightest Java architect of the team,
he is the Chief Technology Officer of ExcogitaNet, capitalizing on his many years of standards compliant
software modeling work and his ability in selecting the best in technology and following the most
professional methodologies.
He has developed core components of the Vodafone's "Trilogy" portal and was fundamental in the development of
most of Omnitel's WAP portal and Blu microbrowser-based service platform.
Matteo is in charge of designing application and network architectures, from both the functional and the security point of view.
After starting as a software developer in Italtel, he's been involved in all the biggest projects of all the Italian Telcos (Omnitel2000: WAP portal, Amena: WAP, Tre Italy: service architecture for the mobile portal, Vodafone: logical and physical architecture for the selfcare portal 190.it).
He's also been involved in the remake of the monitoring and alarming system of the park of Idroscalo (MI, Italy), wherw he worked on the custom software development and the integration challenges of all the hardware components used (signaling totems, videorecording and backup systems).
